Here is what you can expect from me as your therapist:
Multidisciplinary Treatment Approach:
I understand that eating disorders affect the whole person, including mind, body, family, community, culture, values and spirituality. While working in comprehensive group practice, I will coordinate treatment efforts with other medical and mental health professionals to provide a comprehensive multidisciplinary treatment approach. After an initial evaluation, an individual treatment plan is developed which may involve consultation with any of the following professionals: a dietitian, a medical specialist, a psychiatrist, a family or group therapist. This multidisciplinary approach ensures that the complex circumstances that contributes to eating disorders are addressed in the most effective and efficient manner possible. As a crucial member of the treatment team, the client will help direct their course of her own treatment based on her needs and preferences.
Individualized Care:
Recognizing that every person is different, I strive to develop an individualized treatment plan for each client. While there is no one definitive form of therapy recommended for eating disorders, I develop a treatment plan for each individual utilizing the most effective “evidence-based” forms of therapy such as in depth Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
